I visited local shops in Highams Park over the weekend. As part of the Shop Local Weekend, I had a chance to see what great new creative business can do for a local community.
We've all felt that Highams Park has great potential. It has a great local community. But we have also sense that there could be so much more done. The new Tesco was a start, but with new residents constantly coming into the local neighbourhood, I see this as a great opportunity to support flourishing new businesses. Two great examples are the Xylonite Gallery and Outkast Skate shop. Both are one of a kind. Both have a brought a great deal of attention. But most importantly, both are examples of local businesses helping to build our local community. IDS has shown tacit support on this, but one of the main parts of my campaign is to support local original businesses to grow our community. To make the area feel like not just a place where we live, but a home. If you agree and would like to support this, please get in touch.
