One of the highlights of campaigning is getting to enjoy fantastic events like the Highams Park Spring Festival. Organised by the Friends of Highams Park, I spent my time saying hello and talking to local residents about a number of issues. But mostly, it was a good excuse for an ice cream!
The Highams Park Spring Festival is a great reminder of how welcoming our community can be. It also shows us how inclusive and diverse we are becoming. While many of us are still deeply saddened by the Manchester attack, and angered by those who perpetrated it, events such as the Highams Park Spring Festival are a great reminder of how a community can work together.
Alongside introducing myself to many constituents, it was a great chance to try my hand at some ornate woodwork and talk to our local police officers.
